This is an original, one of a kind piece of art. Drawn by cartoonist Joe Dator for The New Yorker magazine, and published in the issue dated June 3, 2019
It depicts two soldiers from a bygone era in a foxhole, while one shows the other a succession of snapshots from several shoeboxes full of photos. The caption reads "This is my girl back home, and this is a funny sign I saw this morning, and these are forty pictures of a sunset I took trying to get the exposure right, and this is . . ."
It was drawn in pen and ink with grey wash on vellum-finish bristol. Its dimensions are 9" x 12"
