This is an original, one of a kind piece of art. Drawn by cartoonist Joe Dator for The New Yorker magazine, and published in the issue dated April 15, 2024.

It depicts a family at a ticket booth watching an older woman carrying a dolphin out of an aquarium. The caption reads “We’re a lending aquarium.”

After completing it, the artist decided to make the character carrying the dolphin a young man. This piece comes with the separate piece depicting the man carrying the dolphin, which was added later digitally. The cartoon was published in the New Yorker with the young man carrying the dolphin.

It was drawn in pen and ink with ink wash on vellum-finish bristol. Its dimensions are 9" x 12"
